Today we went hunting for a wedding reception venue. No matter what your budget is for your wedding the reception is going to be one of the biggest costs, so it's important to get it right. As we are planning a small wedding finding the right venue for us has turned out to be more difficult then expected. The biggest reason is this little thing known as minimum spend. So if you only want 30 people for your wedding and you find a wedding venue that you love, but then you find out they have a minimum spend of $8000 then you might as well invite more people right? As I have found not a lot of places want to cater to small weddings, which is understandable because they want to make it worth their while. With all that said we have found some options available to us and have been making our way around looking at them all. Sometimes you can just walk into a place and view their wedding options and for other places you have to make a booking to speak to the appropriate people. We still have many places to visit before we decide, but luckily we already have our ceremony venue and date booked in so there isn't many big decisions left!
