Today as part of my graduate program at work we had a session about budgeting and superannuation. A lot of things we covered can be found in the book: The barefoot investor. A lot of this budgeting system I already have in place! Some of the great things we covered and you should think about doing yourself are:
- Cut up your credit cards
- Stop using after pay! (Only buy now what you can afford now)
- Consolidate your super: If you have worked multiple jobs over the years chances are you have different super accounts. Get onto the Australian Tax Office website and combine all your super into one account.
- It's never too early to start saving for a Home Loan
